Equi-Eval Information
What to Expect in a Hands On Evaluation
Equine Evaluations usually last between one hour and one hour thirty minutes. You should have your horse groomed and in a stall, with halter and lead and saddle ready. First we will evaluate your horse move both on the longe and under saddle, and then evaluate the horse conformationally and for saddle fit. Based on the outcome, the Equi-Eval Rep will discuss with you their recommendations.
Submitting an Email Evaluation
Equine Evaluations via email are a great way to help you get the most out of your horse when you are too far from an Equi-Eval rep for a hands on evaluation. In order for your evaluation to be thorough, the following information will need to be included with the images and videos.
Basic Information
Your name, riding discipline, and riding experience
Your horse’s name, age, breed, and height
Your saddle brand, model, seat size and tree size
Your bit type, and any additional equipment you use when riding and why
Any issues you have been having with your horse
Any professional treatments that your horse has had, vet, dentist, farrier, chiropractor, massage therapist, and a brief summary of those treatments
Any specific questions/requests such as you specifically are worried about fitting a saddle to your horse, or you feel that your horse may be stiff in the left hind, so that we may address these concerns specifically
Any supplements or notable feeds the horse is on
Any recent behavioral, environmental, or nutritional changes that may be affecting the horse
How to Send Images and Videos

Equi-Eval FAQ’s
How long will my evaluation take?
Most evaluations take between one hour and one hour thirty minutes depending on the horse.
Will the Equi-Eval Rep be riding my horse?
No, the Equi-Eval Rep is there to evaluate the horse’s movement and saddle fit without riding/training the horse.
Can my trainer be present?
Absolutely! Our goal is to work with you and your trainer to determine a plan that will help get the most out of your horse. We are not developing a training plan, but rather discussing saddle fit and any needs from an equine professional (such as a chiropractor or massage therapist), and to help develop a conditioning program that will help your horse muscle up and move to his full potential so that you can work with your trainer to reach your riding goals!
What if I can’t take videos? Can you still evaluate my horse for saddle fit?
Yes, we can, with the proper images, however then we ask for some still images of your horse moving at all three gaits, in both directions. It is harder to fully evaluate a horse without seeing the horse move, however it is possible. If we feel the images provided are not sufficient, we will refund your evaluation fees.
